OS X Server

OS X Server lets you share files with other Macs, Windows and iOS devices. Or back up a network of Macs to a shared Time Machine drive. Centralize management of Macs and iOS devices. Serve up web pages, email, calendars, contacts and wiki pages. Access your data from the internet with a VPN. All without per-user fees.

Server is just a $19.99 add-on to OS X. Purchase OS X Server in the App Store. You pay only once for all the Macs you use.

Server looks like a blue globe in the dock.

Starting Server the first time

The first time you launch Server it walks you through the steps of setting it up. You’ll choose a name for the server and network configuration.
