If you have questions about your iPhone, iPad, Mac or other Apple product, you may need to make a visit at your nearest Apple Store. But don’t just show up unannounced – Apple Stores are notoriously busy and you might wait for hours. Make an appointment and a staff member will be ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
You can make an appointment at the Apple web site, but that sometimes requires answering a number of preliminary troubleshooting questions and suggested solutions. Although these can be helpful, you can bypass the process by using the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad.
The Apple Store app is the key to making your Apple Store experience quick and pleasant. You can schedule a workshop or Genius Bar appointment. Use it to order Apple products for shipping to your home or office. Place an order for pick-up and the items are paid-for, bundled together with your name on them, and ready for you or someone you designate to sign and go in minutes. And while you’re shopping in-store, pull up the Apple Store app and scan accessories – these small items are billed to your Apple account and you can walk out the door without even waiting for checkout. The Apple Store app is essential for anyone visiting an Apple Store.
Making your appointment
- Install the Apple Store app on your device, then open it. Choose from the main menu of options.
- To make an appointment, tap Stores.
- Choose an appointment type, such as the Genius Bar for personalized troubleshooting. Choose Make a Reservation and select a product (such as Mac, iPhone or iPad).
- Choose a nearby store location. If you need help quickly, compare availability at several stores.
- Select from available appointment times. Be sure you’ve chosen a day and time that works for you. You’ll want to arrive at least 15 minutes early and plan to stay at least one hour.
- Confirm all the details. If you change your mind, tap Back at the top left.
- Before you come in, back up your data. For iPhone & iPad, back up with iTunes or iCloud. For Mac, back up with Time Machine.
- Tap Reserve to save make your appointment. You can even get a reminder from Apple before your scheduled appointment.
