Like many software packages today, Microsoft Office is usually sold by subcription. First, you purchase a subscription (below), then log into Microsoft to delegate licenses. Next, download & install software. Finally, activate Office with a Microsoft account that has been assigned a valid license for Office.
Purchasing an Office 365 subscription
- Open a browser and go to www.office.microsoft.com.
- Click For Home or For Business. The core Microsoft apps are the same no matter which you choose, but business plans have other features geared toward collaboration. Learn which Business, Personal or Home subscription is right for you.
- Choose an Office 365 subscription and click Buy Now.
- Select an annual or monthly option.
- Choose options and check out.
- Log in with a Microsoft account, or choose Sign up now if you don’t have one. If you’re purchasing Office 365 Home, you can log into this account later and share with 4 other users.
- Complete the purchase.
- Download Office.
- Now you’re ready to download & install Microsoft Office or share your subscription with others.
